Potted History of the Chocolate Point Siamese

Having taken my Siamese pedigrees back to the first Siamese that were brought into the UK, I decided that I would try and write a little about these first cats.
My interest is in the Chocolate Point Siamese, therefore these are the lines that I followed, although the photographs of the first cats are Seals. Breeders did not see the Chocolate Point Siamese as anything other than poor Seals. Chocolate Point Siamese were not recognised by the GCCF until 1950.
I started my research in the early 1980`s looking at the last line of the pedigree of Mistu Heidi, my foundation queen.

I then set about writing to the Breeders, or owners, of these cats and everyone was so helpful and I very often received back far more than I hoped for. No one had their pedigrees on computer then and most pedigrees were painstakingly written by hand.
Ch Wankee
According to my records, one of the first cats is Ch. Wankee born 1885 his parents were Robert x Nims (sometimes Mons) and details of these two are unknown.

Another cat, dob 25/7/1885 called Polyphema, was born in this Country, her father was Tiam O`Shian 3 - Puppy x Susa - Tiam O`Shian 1 x Lady Siam no further details. Dam Priscilla - Tiam O`Shiam 1 x Mrs O`Shian - Tiam O`Shian 1 x Loquat Tiam O`Shian 1 x Susan - Import. (No date of Import).
Genifer was born 10/04/1915: father King Ki mother Queen Sophie, I have no further details on these two cats. Genifer was the mother of Litabois and Bigabois, their father was Bobolinko. Litabois carried chocolate.
Som Det Tjao was an imported cat and Mira de Listinoise 24b was mated to him and three generations on Ch Seashell de Listinoise 24b produced Doneraile Brun Boy 24b. Who was originally registered as a Seal.
Miss Wentworth Fitzwilliam bred Chocolates under the suffix de Listinoise and Seals under the prefix Slingsby.
Ch. Sancho was born in 1906, his parents were Ch. Kew King of Siam (details unknown) and Mom Pish Tush, her parents were Satan and Princess and these two cats were bred in Bankok and said to have been given to Admiral Sir H. Grenfell in 1904, who brought them back to England.
In 1919 a cat named Puteh was imported from Malaya. She was probably a Chocolate Point. Her name means white. Puteh was mated to Ch. Mon Dek, who was also imported.
Ketchil was an offspring of these two and it appears that she was the foundation queen of the Prestwick cats. Ketchil was born in 1923 and was mated to Ch. Simzo. Their son Ch. Prestwick Mata Biru is one of the first Prestwick cats, a full sister was Prestwick Permata - Ketchil, both Seal Points.
Ch Sayam Zar Prak 24b and Ch Holmesdale Chocolate Soldier 24b were sons of Ch Prestwick Penglima Pertana (born 1946). Ch Briarry MacSuch 24b (Ch Sushard 24b x Lady Macbeth) was a grandson of Ch. Prestwick Penglima Pertana.
Ch Camley Fudge, the sire of Ch Bradgate Yippee 24b and Sunland Sijui 24b the father of Ch. Bolney Klien 24b can trace their ancestory back to Ch.Prestwick Penglima Pertana.
In 1949 Ch Clonlost Yo Yo was born, he was also a decendant of the Prestwick cats. His father was Doneraille Dekho x Foxburrox Runtu. Jean of Abingdon was his great Grandmother, she was a Blue Point. He was a well used stud, and produced many offspring to different females. He is behind my cats line a number of times, and although Seal Point well worth mentioning as he had beautiful type.
Mrs Isabel Keene, a well known and repected Judge bred for many years, her prefix, Killdown is very famous.
Her line began with a queen, Sealsleeve Shah Danseur, (sire: Penybryn Mont x Sealsleeve Shah Pasha). Danseur was mated to Oriental Silky Boy and Ch. Killdown Jupiter was the result of this mating. Mrs Keene owed a famous stud Lindale Simon Pie, (Mystic Dreamer x Beaumanor Bricky) and from him she bred Ch. Killdown Sultan. Many other Champions were bred by Mrs Keene, far too many to mention in this short article.
Roundway Ourisia
Although predominately a Seal breeder she owned Roundway Ourisia 24b (Ch Scintilla Apollo x Roundway Jonquil) Roundway Ourisia was used by Chocolates breeders, and can be found behind many of our Chocolate lines today.

Ch Linton Ajax
Mrs Elizabeth Biggie, another well known and respected Judge, bred Ch Linton Ajax 24a (Ch Misselfore Ryken 24a x Purland Mayflowr 24a )Ajax is Grandson of Ch Clonlost YoYo through his mothers line, and so can trace his line back to the Prestwick cats. He is a Gt. Gt. Gt Grandfather of Mistu Heidi on her mothers side.

Craighiehilloch Boyndie dob 18/4/62 is another Gt.Gt.Gt. Gr of Mistu Heidi`s on her mothers side.
The Craighiehilloch prefix belonged to Mrs Dora Clarke, who bred some well known Chocolate Points. Mistu Heidi`s mother Beauwill Lavender Lady, is a daughter of Craighiehilloch Lilac Lady. Mrs Clarke was also involved in producing the first Havana Cats. She was a well respected Judge.
Ch Boidheach Macgille
Kirash Barney 24b the father of Mistu Heidi, was a son of Ch Boidheach MacGille (Ch Kirash Curry 24b x Linian Luag 24) Margaret Rossier bred MacGille, and he was owned by Sally Beeley, who bred the famous Kirash cats. She was well known for breeding good colour chocolates.

My girl Fabiola Fennimore (Mistu Heidi x Lorphil Imprint) both Chocolate Points, had in her pedigree, through her fathers line, Ch. Kimoki Dagmar 24b (Ch Sandras Pancho 24 x Damson 24b,) the Kirash cats and the Pi-Den cats, bred by Mrs Grace Denny, figure strongly in his pedigree. He was of exellent type and colour.
Fabiola Lindy Hop 24b, another daughter of Mistu Heidi, was the mother of Gr.Ch Sinope Super Nova 24b., a beautiful Chocolate Point, who was bred and owned by Honor Single.
Gr Ch Sinope Supernova
Gr.Ch. Sinope Super Nova was the father of Gr.Ch. Sinope Athene 24b her mother was Fabiola de Sylva, a Seal Point (Ch.Sislinki Telstar x Fabiola Fennimore). Athene was the first Gr.Ch. Chocolate Point female in the Country. She was owned by Mr Ross Mort Williams of the Chaiross prefix.
Valerie Morris bred another striking chocolate point, Gr. Ch. Valellen Clarissa Belle ( Fabiola Chocolate Devinne 24b x Ch. Haruan Indianna 24b).
Premier Fabiola Chocolate Musetta 24b is another daughter of Lorphil Imprint.
